Where Experience Meets Perspective

I've spent my career leading people, shaping organizations, and learning firsthand that the hardest challenges are rarely just about strategy alone.

My experience spans executive leadership, operations, organizational development, and coaching. Along the way I've lead through growth, transition, and uncertainty both personally and professionally.

True Course brings those experiences together to help individuals, leaders, organizations, and families gain clarity, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater purpose and confidence. My belief is that a good coach remains a student: curious, learning, and willing to do the same work they ask of others.

Clarity Starts With Asking

Frequently Asked Questions

A little clarity can go a long way. Here are answers to some common questions about coaching, consulting, and working with True Course.

  • What kinds of challenges can you help with?

People usually reach out when something feels stuck, unclear, or ready to change. That might mean navigating a career or life transition, improving communication in relationships, developing greater self-awarness, strenghening leadership skills, working through team dynamics, planning for growth, or preparing a business for its next chapter. You don't need to have the problem perfectly defined before we begin. Sometimes figuring out the right question is an important part of the work.

  • Who do you typically work with?

I work with individuals, business owners, leaders, and teams who want to better understand where they are, what may be getting in their way, and where they want to go next. Some are navigating significant change; others simply know something could be working better. My work ranges from personal growth and self-awarness to leadership, team dynamics, organizational challeges, and business transitions. The common thread is a desire for greater clarity, stronger relatinships, and meaningful progress.

  • What's the difference between coaching and consulting?

Coaching and consulting solve different kinds of problems. In coaching my role is to walk a path with you to develop greater awarness, explore what might be getting in your way, and discover the direction that makes sense for you. Consulting is more advisory: I bring my own business and leadership experience to the table to help assess challenges, develop strategy, and recommend pratical solutions. Somtimes the two naturally overlap. We can determine together which approach best fits what you're facing.

  • What experience do you bring to business consulting?

I bring more than two decades of hands on business and leadership experience, from frontline operations to executive and C-level leadership. Along the way, I've worked across operations, finance, sales and marketing, saftey and compliance, customer experience, team develpoment, product creation, and stratigic growth. I've also helped lead an organization through siginificant growth, organizational change, and transition from family ownership to private equity. That experience taught me that good strategy matters, but sustainable progress ultimatly depends on people - how they communicate, how they lead, and how they respond when circumstances change.

  • Have you owned and operated a business yourself?

Yes. I grew up around family businesses and eventually became an owner and operator myself. I understand that running a business looks very different from the inside - when decisions affect your employees, your customers, your family, and your own future. I've experienced aquisition, ownership transitions, difficult personel decisions, changing market conditions, and the constant balancing act between what a business needs and what the people inside it need. That perspective shapes my consulting: pratical advice has to work in the real world, not just look good on paper.

  • Do you work with leadership teams?

Yes. I work with leadership teams to strengthen communication, build awarness, clarify roles and expectations, navigate conflict, and improve how people work together. Depending on the needs of the team, that may include facilitated conversations, leadership development, team coaching, or tools such as the Enneagram to better understand different motivations and communication styles. The goal isn't to make everyone think or lead the same way- it's to help people understand their differences and use them more effectively.

  • What should I expect from a coaching session?

Coaching sessions are conversational, confidential, and centered on what matters most to you. We'll explore what you're experiencing, look for patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel, or respond. Then we work toward greater clarity about what comes next. I'll ask questions, challenge assumptions when it's helpful, and offer tools or perspectives that support the work. You don't need to arrive with an agenda or all of the answers. Somtimes the most useful sessions begin simply with , "Here's what's been on my mind."

  • Do I need to know my Enneagram type before we work together?

Not at all. The Enneagram is one of several tools I may use to help build self-awarness, but you don't need any prior knowledge of it to benifit from coaching. If exploring your type would be useful, we can do that together as part of the process. If the Enneagram isn't relevant for what you want to work on, we don't need to use it at all. The goal is understanding you and where you want to go.

  • Is coaching appropriate if I just feel stuck, or is it only for major career or life transitions?

You don't need to be facing a major transition or even know exactly what's out of balance to benifit from coaching. Somtimes people simply feel stuck, restless, overwhelmed, or aware that somthing isn't working as well as they'd like. Coaching can create space to slow down, notice patterns that are difficult to see on your own, and explore what might need attention. You don't need a crisis to make a change. Sometimes greater awarness is enough to help you find your next step.

  • How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching and therapy can both create space for reflection and growth, but they serve different purposes. Therapy is provided by licensed mental health professionals and may involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions as well as working though significant emotional or psychological concerns. Coaching is generally focused on the present and future. Helps to build awarness, identify patterns, clarify goals, and turn insight into meaningful action. Coaching isn't a substitute for therapy, and when somone falls outside the appropriate scope of coaching, I'll be clear about that.

  • Do I need to make a long-term commitment?

No. Some people come to True Course for a single session or a specific challenge, while others find value in working together over time. We can start with what you need right now and decide from there. If ongoing coaching or consulting makes sense, we can build a rhythm that supports your goals. There's no expectation that you commit to a long-term program before you know whether working together is a good fit.

  • Do you work virtually or in person?

Both. I work virtually with clients regardless of location, which makes coaching and consulting easy to fit busy schedules. If you are in a different time zone or are having difficulty geting our calenders to line up, please send me an email and I'm happy to arrange a time that can work for us. For larger organizational engagments, team trainings, workshops, conferences, and speaking opportunities, I'm available to travel when appropriate. Any travel requirements and associated expences are discussed in advance and incorporated into the scope of the engament.

My path into coaching grew from the desire to better understand people-including myself. That led to years of study, personal work, and professional training in the Enneagram through The Art of Growth, an international Enneagram Association (IEA) accredited training program founded by Joel Hubbard and Jim Zartman.

Through the Art of Growth, I completed a progressive course of study and graduated as an Enneagram Practitioner, Individual Coach, and Team Coach. Through training, coaching, study, and mentorship with Joel and Jim I developed the skills to guide others in better understanding their own patterns, centers, and growth paths as well as methodology and practical application of the Enneagram in everyday life.
